I saw the last four innings of the Braves-Astros game yesterday. 18 innings. Wow. Each team escaped a few jams. Of course, most of the drama happened in regulation, as it was the first postseason game to ever feature two grand slams. Now, the drama past 18 innings would have been how long Clemens could keep going, as the Astro bullpen was empty, save for yesterday's starter who was obviously unavailable, and the potential game five starter, who would, say it with me now, be needed in game five. Would Garner have been forced to press a regular into pitching duty? It was all made moot by the 18th inning heroics of Chris Burke.
